Renewed Plants began with a simple belief I hold close to my heart: caring for plants can help us care for ourselves—especially during life’s most tender seasons.
I started Renewed Plants during a period of personal transition, drawing from my love of gardening and my lived experience with ADHD, depression, and anxiety. Through caring for plants, I learned that growth doesn’t follow a strict timeline and that rest, patience, and presence are just as important as progress. Plants became a steady source of calm and grounding for me, offering comfort during times of uncertainty and emotional weight.
As a nurse educator with a master’s degree in nursing education, my professional journey has deeply shaped the heart of this work. My experience in hospice and end-of-life care taught me that healing is not always about curing; it is about dignity, comfort, and compassionate presence. Those lessons reinforced what plants had already been showing me: gentle, intentional care truly matters.
What began as a small passion project grew into a mission—to create a community-centered space that makes plant care accessible, joyful, and meaningful for everyone. By blending my background in nursing education, hospice support, and community care with a commitment to sustainable living, I wanted to foster a welcoming, judgment-free environment where people can slow down, learn, and reconnect—with nature and with themselves.
Renewed Plants is more than a shop to me. It is a space rooted in resilience, empathy, and hope; a place where it’s okay to not be okay, where everyone is welcome, and where growth is honored in all its forms. Every plant is chosen with intention, because I believe even the smallest acts of care can bring comfort, renewal, and connection.
Today, Renewed Plants continues to grow into a community-centered space offering education, resources, and programs that support both environmental and emotional well-being. What began as my personal journey has become a growing community—rooted in renewal, presence, and compassion.
Love,
Carinah
